Dazed and Confused

April 2, 2009 -

Let me keep this short and sweet. I never get sick. Maybe once every five years I get a real cold and once every other year I get a half cold. Before that lil haffy turns into a reality, I beat it.

Well, I did the reverse tri yesterday and I was pretty cooked as this fakie cold was trying to get the best of me.

Then last night came.

I didn't sleep at all. I was up all night coughing, sweating, and being generally frustrated as I had to get up at 4a anyway to head to the airport. I ended up finally getting up at 1a and staying up until 3a just standing around upstairs.

Then, I thought I could make up sleep on my 6a flight out this am accross the country...but neigh. No rest for the weary. I finally got into Richmond around 4p and was exhausted, tired and could not fathom getting my swim in.

But I called Gold's and prepared to go, and as if fate had a hand in it, there was a splash water aerobics class going on from the time I could get there for a couple hours.....so I bagged the swim. Got some food and called it a day.

This was an unplanned day off, and I only hope to feel better that I can crank out tomorrow's early am swim, which will be hard enough being three hours behind.

Day 92 Training Log - I just could not do anything today, I felt foggy, tired, sick and confused all day (I don't do well on lack of sleep). Also worried about the fam who were driving out east to the farm for the weekend (they made it safe and sound). We'll see how tomorrow goes?

Miss you family!

  1. I'm loving your blog...I grew up in Seattle (ok, Bellevue/Kirkland/Bridle Trails area) and can feel your pain about the weather and how it is NOT ideal for IM training! We have to deal with the other end of the spectrum in Nashville with hot, humid summer days, ugh!

  2. Thanks for the support! I live in Kirkland...represent....woop woop! I lived in Jackson TN for a summer and did not enjoy that wicked heat and humidity. As much as I have to complain about Seattle weather, I think I prefer it over that.
